Meet the founder

Tereka Louise

I was born in a small rural town in North Carolina. I grew up with my great-grandparents as my primary providers; they were the ones who taught me what it meant to build character. My childhood memories that stand out the most, the ones I remember as if it were yesterday, took place when I was nine years old. I recall my mother throwing me a birthday party in the snow! She cooked on the grill and invited family members to celebrate with us. It was so cold! It’s one of the only memories I have of celebrating my birthday as a child, considering the time of the year. However, we grilled out and made snowmen at the same time. The second memory I remember happened the next year during the summer. I was still nine years old, but this one is the one I’m reminded of daily. It was the year video recorders were so popular, and my cousin-in-law could not stop playing with his brand-new gadget. He found reasons to record everything! He decided he wanted to record all the little children as we all told him what we wanted to be when we grew up. Everyone ahead of me said things like, “doctor, lawyer, teacher, etc.”, but I had to say the unlikely and just be different. I told him, “ I want to invent something”! Today, I am still reminded of that day. I want to invent something that is my true heart’s desire. I have always been a woman of faith who doesn’t mind being or doing something different. My heart’s desire is, and has always been, to have something to call my own and become a legacy for generations to come. That is why in July of 2015, I began this journey! Without hesitation, reassurance, or even a back up plan, I decided to take that leap of faith! Reka Rocks Inc. was born. A service with a bigger purpose, the purpose that would continue to invest in the lives of humanity. My purpose is to lay the foundation for people to expand and build upon the very reason they exist. I happen to be a firm believer that every person has a distinctive purpose. Everything I do has a purpose! I quote, “A purpose is a passion, and a passion ignites people and their desire to live with intent.”
